The Latest Innovation In Washing Machine Is No Water Needed.

Here's another innovation from GE, the Consumer and Industrial business unit is launching a marketing campaign to sell its new line of frontload washers and dryers that can hold and wash up to 17 pairs of jeans and up to six months of detergent and fabric softener. The technology SmartDispense enables the washer to dispense the right amount based on soil level, load size and fabric type. The CleanSpeak technology will allow the washer electronically tell the dryer which items to expect so it is integrated. May be next is it will play your iTunes too. That’s a pretty cool innovation.

The new product is more water efficient; it uses about 15 to 16 gallons of water per load that you have to heat, compared with a traditional top-load washer at between 39 and 40 gallons. If you think 15 gallons is still too much, researchers at the University of Leeds have invented a technology that uses plastic chips to clean clothes, eliminating the need water for water. This is the world’s first “virtually waterless” washing machine, the contraption utilizes plastic granules or chips to remove stains and leaves the clothes nearly dry. The machine can use as little as a cup of water. It will hit the market next year.

If don’t like that, you can get this (photo above) two-in-one WashUP washing machine/toilet combo. Basically after a load of clothes are washed the machine saves the water to later flush the toilet. We do need more innovation that allow us to wash clothes with little or no water needed, think about a car wash that doesn't need water or dish dryer that doesn't use that much electricity. We should spend more effort innovation that can help us to use less resources and more sustainable. This should be the mission of all appliances maker.

I’d be lying if I said I care only about performance and not looks when it comes to household appliances. I mean, who wouldn’t want a stylish looking washing machine? The concept Maglev Washing Machine designed by Jakub Lekes is sure to bowl you over with its looks and features. The traditional spinning drum is replaced by a spherical drum held in place by a series of electromagnets in the Maglev. One set of electromagnets keeps the drum levitating within the body of the machine, while a second set induces movement, allowing the drum to spin in all directions. A lot of noise is reduced as the drum never actually contacts the body. The design also cuts water and detergent usage.

When you are looking for dryers washing machines, it is likely that you will spend some time doing some research of your upcoming purchase. After all, this is a major purchase and one that you won’t take lightly.
Another consideration is the space that you have available for your dryers washing machines. If you have a dedicated laundry room, this isn’t really a factor, but if you only have a closet or a small space available in your kitchen or bathroom, you might want to consider smaller, space saving models. Space in a closet might allow for a washer/dryer hookup to be installed, allowing you to put a stackable unit in. Greener Gadget submissions were first whittled down to fifty promising finalists which then went through two weeks of online voting before a full day of heated debate at the Greener Gadgets Conference. Finally, the results were in and the judges selected Laundry POD as 4th place in the international competition. "We've seen the need for the product in the field, and to have consumers and design experts give Laundry POD the nod was really rewarding," said Slutsky. "We look forward to partnering with a consumer products company and getting Laundry POD into the hands of consumers."

The Xeros washing machine uses less than 2 per cent of the water and energy by using thousands of reusable plastic chips to remove and absorb dirt. The solution offers potential reductions in water usage, energy consumption,chemical use, drying time, processing times and cost.

The Orbit is a concept washing machine that uses no water and cleans clothes with dry ice in a matter of minutes. Is it too good to be true?The Orbit is also powered by a battery-filled ring containing a metal laundry basket at the center of the the spherical machine. The batteries inside the ring create a magnetic field which also levitates the basket as the machine’s electrical resistivity drops. Now, instead of watching laundry spin inside traditional washing machines, the Orbit would also make our clothes float.Meet the Orbit, created by industrial designer Elie Ahovi to help revolutionize the tedious task and make washing machines greener for the environment. The Orbit cuts down on water usage by allowing dry ice to evaporate into gas and perform a pressurized blast to lift the dirt off your clothes. The chemical reaction between carbon dioxide in dry ice and grease in your clothes breaks down the particles of dirt, spinning them into oblivion. After the dry ice has scrubbed your laundry clean in a matter of minutes, the gas is sucked back up and returns to a solid state for future washes. The grime removed from your clothes is filtered through a tube which you will have to manually clean and maintain.

9)EcoDual Washing Machine

The brainchild of industrial designer Max Germano, the EcoDual washing machine is designed to reduce water consumption by as much as 50 percent. This washing machine collects water in a tank located at the bottom of the washer, which is then filtered and reused in subsequent washing cycles. The EcoDual is also equipped with a deodorization system that can be used for foul smelling clothes.

The aim of Wave washing is to optimize water and detergent consumption according to the contamination of the laundry. It controls the functions of your washing machine with the remote sensors reducing the washing load of your machine. This wave washer works in synchronization with your washing machine reducing the amount of water and detergent consumption and providing a better quality laundry wash.
The wave washer is equipped with smart ultrasound wave sensors that can detect the severity of the contamination or stains in your laundry, and will consume water and detergent accordingly to impart a better quality laundry wash. Pour measured quantity of water in the wave washer and place it on the contaminated area. Sensor of Electrolux Wave Wash will detect the severity of the contamination. The ultrasound vibrator will do the cleaning job, and warm air from the dryer will dry up the washed part.
